Bahamas Dinghy
Annie Maurice Albury (Man O'War Cay)

Date built: circa 1969
Length: 14.5 feet
Donated by: Jerry Rose and Annie Potts

Annie is built of Port Orford cedar on Abaco mahogany frames. Her deadwood (skeg) is made of horseflesh and red stopper, both bush woods from Great Abaco. She is fastened with bronze screws. Her mast, rudder, ribs and sails are all original.

Annie was built for an official of the Zenith Company who owned Sandy Cay, a small island near Man O' War. She was later sold to well-known artist Jerry Rose and Annie Potts who deepened her keel and added a Newport Green rubrail to her otherwise original paint scheme.

Jerry and Annie sailed the dinghy on the Sea of Abaco for several years before shipping her to Florida, where they sailed her on the South Fork of the St. Lucie River in Stuart and Palm City. Annie is the subject of several of Jerry's paintings.
