“Rockin’ the Boat”
We have recently launched a very exciting program, “ROCKIN’ THE BOAT”, in collaboration with an array of area non-profit organizations that serve our community’s youth, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, Project LIFT (Life Initiatives for Teens), and the Samaritan Center for Boys. The program empowers young people challenged by economic, educational and social conditions to develop the self-confidence to set goals and gain skills needed to achieve success and experience the uniqueness of our treasured waterways. Each group will construct their very own wooden boats with the assistance of trained volunteers, and once completed, will have the opportunity to explore and learn more about boating and life on the water through hands-on experiences. Truly, not only are these students building boats, but the boats are building kids!!
Thanks to the following sponsors who have already provided generous program support:
Mr. & Mrs. John Gear, Kadey Krogen Yachts
Mr. Patrick Stracuzzi
Armstrong Nautical
Comerica Bank
Sponsorships for this terrific program are still available! Please contact the museum for additional details as to how you can lend support!
